Interesting, things seem to have changed here at blogger. Anywho, getting ready to turn 35 tomorrow. I was a bit bunged about it but I’ve come to accept it. 40 will be an entirely different matter however.

We bought a new van (well new to us, 2000) for Nate for work. It’s really nice, fully loaded which is odd in a cargo van. Someone obviously wanted to be comfortable while they were working. Nate didn’t have to do anything to it. Came with shelves, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, floor covering, 2 filing systems in the cab, and a headache rack. Very nice. It also have power locks, windows, abs breaks, cruise, and tilt steering. He’s going to be spoiled all week then not want to go back to driving the truck.

I’ve managed to pick up a cold this week so I’ve been slogging through that. Bleah. I’m also resisting the temptation to cast on about a 1000 projects. I have so many ideas rolling through my head it’s not funny. I want to do a cotton tank in two shades of Provence cotton with a feather and fan element to it, I want to make a felted bag out of some of my glorious Kureyon (but I don’t want to “lose” it either”, maybe some socks, a shawl, at least 1 vest, maybe 2. My brain is out of control. It is startitis of the worst sort.

Elann had Acurania cotton on this morning. Made me salivate just to look at it. But….with a new van to pay off there will be no yarn purchases for awhile. I must be virtuous and knit from the basement yarn store.

Chery, George, Nate, and I are going out for supper on Saturday to celebrate Cherylie’s and my bday. Her’s was in February but she was on the Albertan road trip from hell with her father in law so she needs to celebrate too. :)

Guess that’s about it. Blather at you later. :)

Right. That’s the weekend done then. I’m almost finished my second slipper then it’s off to the felting. It’s always fun felting, you’re never quite sure what you will get. I think these will be very fuzzy indeed.

We went looking at vans this weekend for nate for work. Saw one pretty good one in Abbotsford. He’s going to go have a closer look tomorrow between appointments. Got three pairs of jeans at the V V boutique today and some Paton’s Paradiso in white. There’s about 7 balls there. Gerry told us on Firday that he is going to be a daddy so I’m going to make a blankie. It’s a girl and she will be named Megan. I think the Paradiso would be nice for that, it’s so soft.

I’ve been using the Denise needles on my huge slipper and so far so good. Luckily I knit loosely so my knitting just slides around. Well, I guess that’s about it. Off to tend to supper.

Hidy ho neighbour. Gee, can you tell I was watching Southpark tonight? Mr. Hankie the Christmas Poo. Bleah! Went shopping at Walmart with Cherylie. Didn’t really buy anything much, just some snack food. Didn’t even check out the yarn section. Off night.

In the middle of year end at work and the overtime is just a flowin’. It’s exhausting and boring. Cast on a set of slippers for myself last night. Using 1 strand of Charisma 10 ply and 2 strands of lace weight mohair. The Charisma is sort of a light natural grey/brown and the mohair is a bluey/green. They should be nice and fuzzy when felted. The mohair will bloom I’m sure.

I’m also itching to start a felted bag out of some of the Noro I bought. That stuff is so amazingly beautiful that I’m almost afraid to use it. In case the project does not live up to the yarn or something.

My set of Denise interchangeables should arrive tomorrow. I can’t wait. Well, I guess that’s about it. I’m off to bed now.

Oh yeah! Feeling particularly virtuous tonight. The slippers are finished and felted and are just drying their little hearts out on top of the freezer. They turned out really nice. The Naturgarn felted very well, very fuzzy. They should be lovely and warm. So now, will I complete another project on the needles? Will I continue my virtuous streak and go for two fo’s? I don’t think so. I’m going to go swatch some Classic Elite Provence I got last weekend out of the $2 bin at the LYS. I want to design a summer tank top with a feather and fan bottom and stockinette top. I have hot orange and a soft peachy coral so they should be pretty together.

Off to watch the Sopranos and swatch my little heart out. :)

Huh. Definitely some commitment issues. But anyways, I’m back. Went to see the last Lord of the Rings last night. Still mulling it all over in my brain. It was visually stunning no doubt about it, ane I’ve finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up, a Rohan shield maiden! She was terrific. I don’t know if I’m satisfied with how it has all ended though. I’ll have to process for a few days more I guess.

On the knitting front it has been a week of starting new projects. I’m out of control and I just keep chanting life is too short, knit on what you want! So I’ve got the following going:

- 1/3 way through my first Wonderful Wallaby, this on for Jaydan. Just and inch past the fusing for the pouch. Very smart design bit, that.

- cast on a wee lace bag from the Spring 01 IK in Lana Wools 100% hemp. Really nice plum colour. Haven’t hardly knitted a thing on it yet so I’m not sure if I even like the hemp yet. :)

- almost done the first fuzzy felted slipper from Knitty. Doing them in Gjestal Naturgarn No. 1 from Elann. These are for Leah at work. She does a lot of hospice work at Surrey Memorial Hospital and I think she deserves to have some lovely fuzzy slippies when she gets home. I hope they felt well, this is my first crack at felting this wool. The pattern is here:

That’s all I’ve started this last week or so, but by the same token, I’ve finished nothing! Eek. I’ve also been on a yarn buying binge. Finally got some Noro Kureyon. OH MY GOD! It is amazing stuff, now of course it will rot in the stash because no project will be good enough for it’s uncommon beauty. I don’t think that’s normal but what can I do. Every once in awhile I’ll pop down to the basement and look at it and touch it, but not knit it. Weird.

I’ve also been book collecting again too of course. With new yarn must come new books. Yikes, the money. Oh well, too late to worry now. Besides with year end at work I’ve had 37 hours of O/T in the last month.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, this is all being produced on a new HP computer with 17″ flat panel monitor. It is so fast. I wonder if we will get 3.5 years out of it like we did with the last one? Anywho, gotta go, hungry for breakfast. Oh, and I really need to get cracking on some projects and get some done. Maybe I can finish the slippers this weekend?!?!?!
