So, here’s the deal. I got my order of Noro Kureyon in colour 148 and I’m not loving it. I can’t even get a good picture of it because it’s almost dark every night when I get home from work so no natural light. I’ll try to get a pici tomorrow. It’s very beautiful in it’s own right but I was so in love with the exact shading in the Noro Knits book for butterfly and this of course is different. The pici in the book has these fabulous BLUE areas, mine does not. Mine has the muted eggplant shades, a lovely fuschia (bright), then a lilacy/cornflowery colour instead of the blue. I’m sure once I spend some time with it and get to see it in natural light I will love it, but until then I’m swatching away with it and trying to make friends!

Finished a second sweater for Tia. Karen is going to get some pictures to me then I’ll post them up. I want to make one in all ribbing in a variegated yarn. It’s great that she is so small, it only takes a couple of nights and your done. Instant gratification!

A bunch of us here at work are doing the Bowl for Big Brothers on March18. Should be a hoot! It’s ten pin bowling which I’ve never done before so that too should add to the hilarity! Can’t wait.

Well, I guess I’m off to work now. I’ll try to get some good picis of the Kureyon tonight.

Okay, now I’m just out of control! Stop me…

I am going to die at 85. When are you? Click here to find out!

Okay, now I’m just out of control! Stop me someone, stop me……

Oh yeah baby! I am so proud of this, yo…

I am nerdier than 92% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

Oh yeah baby! I am so proud of this, you have no idea!

Okay, so morning seems to be the time to log into blogger. Much quicker connection. Prolly cause everyone is at work. I’m at work, I’m just early so I thought I’d do a little of this.

Stella is getting better. The antibiotics seem to be taking down the swelling and she can open her mouth much wider than yesterday. I wish I know what she had done to cause the injury so I could prevent it from happening again. Yeah right, like that’s possible. I’ve never met a dog that was so amazingly able to get herself into situations. We’ve only had her for a little over a year and she has already had to be to the vets for unscheduled maintenance 4 times. I’m going to need a second job to keep up with the bills! She’s so cute though, what am I supposed to do?

Karen got to bring Tia home from the vet on Friday night. It was a very dicey business but she is well on the mend now. She is so small, she doesn’t really have any resources to fight much. She was dehydrated in no time. Tia just went out of her mind when she finally saw Karen! Oh, and I’m getting two mice from Karen’s daughter Selena. Her pair of mice that were supposed to be the same sex of course weren’t and now they have eight babies! Surprise, surprise, surprise.

I picked up some stuff for them on Saturday, bedding, food, and a little wooden house. Very cute. I’m going to keep them separated until I’m sure they are the same sex though. No getting jiggy with it in my house! Okay, that’s about all I got for now, I must go and start working for a living again. Who knows when Stella will need another vet visit! :) Great day to all!

Good evening! The basement is all dry finally. We still have the dehumidifier running just to ensure total dryness and lack of mould growing. Bleah! I did get my shrug all washed and blocked and sewed it together yesterday. I wore it all day. I love it. DH calls it a sweater for lazy people to knit. Pretty apt description I believe. It turned out so nice I think I’d like to do another one in worsted/single strand. This one is extremely warm.

We had to take Stella to the vet today. She seems to have run into something and has a swollen eye and her jaw is sore and won’t open all the way. Anti-inflammatories and antibiotics to the tune of $105. I knew I should have stayed in school! :)

Off to work on my afghan and watch the last episode of Regenesis and then the second episode of the new season of Carnivale. I have a bad feeling that Sister Iris is going to do something nasty to this week.

Happy Sunday all!

Right. So. Enough rain for ya? Bahahahahahahah…

Right. So. Enough rain for ya? Bahahahahahahaha! Yeah, okay, really not funny. Basement flodded again. I love that British Columbia is a rain forest, I really do, but when you get 6 inches of rain in 24 hours after you’ve had over a week of freezing and the ground can’t suck up the water you get flooded basements. Sigh. All would have been fine except that Mr. Sump Pump chose yesterday to choke and die. On the upside, at least it happened early enough in the day that we got a new pump at Home Depot. According to the news tonight, no pumps to be had anywhere. Flooded houses all over the lower mainland.

Then today the computer did some very cool hocus pocus and reinstalled Netscape 7.2 for no good reason. This of course included dumping all my addresses, emails, and bookmarks. Yes, I know, backup backup backup, you can’t do enough of it. Too late! :) And poor little Stella had another seizure. She’f fine now, staring at me in hopes that her cuteness will encourage me to give her one of my cookies. Not likely, they’re Dare spice snaps and they’re mine!

On the knitting front, I did not complete the shrug on Sunday night. I think I will knit on it some more tonight. I do love how fast it is to know on such huge needles (10mm) but I always think it looks a little childlike. The stitches seem to artificially BIG!

I was watching Carnivale on Sunday and thinking that I could really understand and appreciate the concept of such a nomadic lifestyle. The idea that all you have and are can be loaded up in one trailer/truck/car and away you go. I love the concept of being that unfettered. Then the flood happened last night and I was REALLY embracing the concept.

I’ve always watched the news and seen how people are after major natural disasters. You know, the family after the hurricane or tornado who say they will rebuild. This is the 6th one they’ve lived through and they’ll keep banging away at it. I never understood how that mentality worked. I get it now. This is the third time we’ve flooded and we keep just fixing and cleaning it up, quite simply because we have no where else to be. This is just where we “go”. You know? Anyways, the nomadic concepts of Carnivale coupled with the Arkansas trailer park futility of our flood is making me maudlin. I’m going to eat spice snaps and drink my tea! Good night!

Okay, I think I may have done it. If so, above you…

Okay, I think I may have done it. If so, above you will be seeing Stella the wonder dog, or as we like to call her, Nuts, ’cause she is! She’s what you call special needs, she has epilepsy and some other neurological things going on. Completely cute though!

And that is Jane and I. She’s much older than Stella and is just pretty much sick and tired of Stell’s s*&t if you know what I mean!

And this is Beentsy. That is a full sized Ikea laundry basket so you can definitely get the sense of just how NOT beentsy, Beentsy is.

We have another cat, Mo Cuirdh, she keeps a very low profile and does not come out much. Very shy. I don’t have any digital picis of her at all. Well, I’m exhausted from all this figuring out of pictures and such and I’m going to go knit now. If I put my mind to it I should be able to finish my shrug tonight and wash and block it tomorrow. Happy Sunday and good luck with Monday all!
