Yeah, so the waiting game continues

Well hello there! Glad you could make it. I haven’t been posting lately ’cause I’m desparately waiting to hear from the Dept of Transportation to call me and tell me that, yes, as a matter of fact, I am the exact perfect person for the job and to come on down and start working immediately! Uh huh, and that hasn’t happened yet and I’m freaking, no wait, I’m FREAKING OUT.

Work is bad. Let’s just leave it at that.

However, on an incredibly happy and pleasant note, my sock pal got the socks and stuff I sent her. And she says the socks fit! Super! That was my greatest fear, making socks for feet not seen. Phew, huge weight off of my mind. I’ll post a pici of the box o’ yarny goodness tomorrow. I just realized I forgot my Clie at work and it has all my picis on it. Sigh, I truly am losing my mind in the stress of whether or not I will get this job.

Have a good night all. I’m gonna go start a scarf from some Elann Baby Silk using this lacy pattern. Pretty eh? I want to warm up a bit before I tackle making the little bolero. I want to modify some things and therefore being comfortable with the lace pattern first seems a good idea!

Tomten Jacket

Here she is, in all her incomplete glory! I’m really pleased with her so far. Today I picked up some nice polar fleece in the lighter browny/taupey (is that a word?) colour to do up a lining.

Spent most of the day applying for jobs and trying to get myself new gainful employment. NOT looking forward to tomorrow. I just wish that every day could be Sunday. Kind of laid back, getting some stuff done, playing with the dogs, a little knitting and reading. It’s all good I tell you! All good.

Things I saw today…

- 40 Year Old Virgin – very funny, juvenile but sooooo very funny.
- An Asian monk in flowing robes. You just don’t see that in Whalley very often!
- The city has cut down all the trees in Holland Park. Tragic.

I think that’s about it for now. I’m off to knit on my Harry Potter scarf. :)

Seeking New Employment

Well, I had my testing today for the Federal Government administrative position. I think it went well. I should know by the beginning of next week. The next round of testing will occur on September 12th and 13th, man I hope I make it! I also got a call from St. Paul’s Hospital about a health records technician position. I passed the pre-interview interview (man, getting a job is WAY more complicated now than it was 14 years ago!). It is a night shift position but it’s also only 4 nights a week. I can always pick up an extra casual shift if I want to round up to 40 hours. It’s bizarre, all those weeks and resumes and no response, now, two in a little over a week. And both really good jobs, too. Whew, thank goodness, I was starting to feel pretty rejected.

I’ve been knitting like a fiend for Dulaan. Finishing up another hat tonight. I want to make a Tomten coat. I made one for my niece when she was little and it was so cute and warm. I have to do some stash diving for that tomorrow.

I’ve set a personal goal of 50 items for myself and set up a little area on the sideabar to keep track of it. I have to pick up a box or a rubbermaid tomorrow for storage purposes.

Okay, off to knit and finish my hat then I have to do some studying. Medical terminology for the hospital position. I took the course 4 years ago, it would appear that I remember about 1/2 of it! Not bad really, considering I haven’t hardly used it since I finished the course.
