SNB

Quick post then I’m heading back to some pretty intense Christmas gift knitting.

Judy asked in comments if I knew of any local SNB groups in the Cloverdale/Langley area. Sort of. I know that the yarn store Knitopia in White Rock used to have one on Thursday evenings. Really nice little store, lots of Canadian fibery goodness. Fleece Artist cashmere makes me positively weak in the knews.

There is a spinning/weaving guild in Langley, they have a fabulous fiber sale/show on the first weekend in November every year in Fort Langley. Part of the guild is the Crazy Clackers who are of course, knitters.

There is also a really cute little yarn store/coffee bar/ice cream parlor in Langley called the Knit Cafe. They are located at #602 21183 – 88th Ave, Langley. When I do a search I get a phone number of 604-888-6489. I seem to remember hearing that they had some social events on some evenings.

And that is about all I know about that. Right, I’m heading back to the neverending scarf. Wish me luck!

Loved it!

This was so much fun! I want to go and see it again. Saw it on Imax last night and it was gorgeous, and really very funny. Go see it, go now, I’ll wait here.

All this and it’s only Monday!

I love sitting quietly on my couch on a Monday night watching a little mindless sitcom television when, of a sudden, my doorbell rings. After shooing out the dogs I come back to the livingroom to be told by DH to call 911 as there is someone on the porch who has been stabbed.

Long story short, 911 was called, pressure was applied via a bathroom towel, paramedics and RCMP were talked to, and blood was washed away from said front porch by aforesaid paramedics. I love big city living, really I do.

On a far nicer note, Marlena’s comment, that hallowig, and wanting straight perfectly bobbed hair made me think of all the other unreal expectations and wishes I had when I was little. I remember when I was about five years old I made a fervent wish/prayer that I would be six feet tall and have size ten feet. How abnormal is that? I couldn’t wish for the gift of flight? Perfect eyesight? World peace?!?!?!?!

Anyway, I turned out a little over five-nine and gosh! I have size ten feet. Ha ha! Very funny Gods, very funny!

I’m gonna go squint and try to read a knitting chart with my highly imperfect eyes now! :) Snort!

Return of Ta Da!

You want fo’s? We got ‘em! Oh boy does we got ‘em.
First up, the incredibly tasteful Hallowig. Truly a wear anywhere item, okay, I’ve only worn it to work for Hallowe’en, but that’s not the point. I could wear it anywhere!

Unfortunately I ran out of the safety orange and had to do the bottom in black. I particularly like giving it that little Laura Petrie flip on the bottom.

Secretly, I’ve always wanted to have straight hair so I could have one of these smooth pageboy bobs. Anyway, not the point, y’all don’t wann hear about my creepy dress up games.

Next up, one extremely long Harry Potter scarf. Almot 8 feet after washing and blocking. Nice. I used the Patons Merino wool in Burgundy and Old Gold. I’m rather please with it. Gonna wear it to the movie next Saturday! Whoot Whoot!

Also, please note the incredibly stylish flannel pj’s, nothing is too good for my blog!

Last but not least, This is Nevin:

Nevin is my new best friend. She can hold a metric crapload of stuff! That’s a metric crapload, bigger than your standard Imperial crapload. Right now I’ve got 225 songs on her and 18 books and she’s only half full! Knitting while listening to a good book = bliss.

Okay, that’s about it. I’m going back to my Dulaan knitting. I’m doing mohair/Lopi Lite hats. VERY warm. I also want to cast on a new scarf/shawl/stole thingy today. I’ve been looking over the stitch books and fondling the stash and I think I’m ready to start.

Here’s to a good week! Cheers.
