It’s time to start planning my Dulaan knitting in earnest. The button is over there on the right if you’d like more details or would like to help. I knitted up the extra cute baby hat over at Hello Yarn today.
Super fast knit, really cute hat. I’ve already cast on another one in some koolaid dyed loose handspun. Full o’ lanolin this stuff is too. Wow!
Also got a few more squares done on the Noro blankie. The colours are almost violent and I’m liking them that way. They make me smile and feel like I’m knitting sunshine.

That’s about it. I’m on holidays for a week for which I am truly thankful. I’m also going to try and get to the motor vehicle branch and get my learners license. I know, a 37 year old woman who doesn’t drive. Tres weird, no? Whatever. I just never really got around to it.
Also, every time I would get up the gumption to go get it I would be in a car accident. This happened 3 times. Once, I was sitting in the car (it was not even turned on), behind the wheel, pretending to drive (you know, making vroom noises and all that, btw, I was 20 at the time), and a drunk man got into the jeep in front of me and backed it uphill and into the car I was in. Caved in the whole front end of a really nice VW Type III fastback. I took this as a pretty strong sign that I maybe shouldn’t drive. Apparently I had offended the gods in some way and I would be dealt with strongly if I insisted on driving.
But…having said all that, I’m going to give it a try, one more time. It’s kind of like when you’ve drank too much and you’re puking your lungs out, you promise to NEVER do it again. But, after a time, you forget how awful it was and you drink again. I’ve forgotten how afraid I am to drive, therefore; I will try again.

Yay driving!! You can do it! Good luck!!
The Noro Blanket is gorgeous and Baby Hat look great. Good luck on the driving.
Gorgeous knits – again. Good luck with your driving test.
My best friend got into a car accident while she had her learner’s permit, and she hasn’t driven since. Like my other friend who doesn’t drive, they just make sure to live in areas with good public transport!
Your last comment on my blog was so good, I read it to my boyfriend! The Rolling Stones kicked ass, naturally. The stage is incredible, Mick is a ball of energy, and they sound GREAT. Plus, it’s always great to see a concert where the crowd is rowdy. I went to see Cher once, and no one even stood up to dance! Not only that, but they asked my friend and I to SIT DOWN!
Depending on how far away you are, I’d be happy to go practice driving with you. I’m also 37, but have been driving since the day I turned 16. I took a safe driver course when I moved to BC, took a class 4 license course (but didn’t bother with the test) and have a motorcycle license.
I see you made it to Capilano & Grouse – I’m in Kits, so if you want any help, do let me know
