I was reading,

over at Kat’s blog. She mentioned this other blog about a woman who is working on doing something every day. Something she hasn’t done before, or is afraid or, or is curious of, or whatever. There was one entry about her having bought a bottle of champagne, Dom to be exact. Just because. She didn’t open it until day 23, but that’s not really the point.
That got me thinking about this:

Foofy Champagne

Hubby bought that for me as a wedding present. I had always wanted a bottle of champagne like they have in the movies, with the flowers painted all over it. He trekked all over the place to find that. This was back in the day when you couldn’t use the internet to find things. The internet was for newsgroups, ICQ, and naked people. So he finds this beautiful bottle of champagne, gives it to me as a wedding present and we promptly put it back in the bag and tuck it away in the cubboard. That was ELEVEN years ago. Then, this past Christmas, I was in the liquor store and I saw this:

2nd Foofy Champagne

How pretty is that? Gorgeous. I bought it. Why? We haven’t drank the first one right? Maybe I was thinking they would breed and we’d have little bottle of sparkling water?

So anyway, long story short, (not really eh?) we finally did this last night:

We finally drank it!

You’ll note we opened and drank the new one, not the eleven year old one. Turns out it’s worth a small bucket of money now and we just can’t bring ourselves to open it. Typical. Any excuse I tell you. It tasted like fall smells, if that makes any sense. You could almost smell the leaves turning colour and ripe apples on trees and that cold dewy morning air when you walk to school for the first time after labour day. It was nice. But it makes me burp. All this little bubbles I guess.

In other news, I’ve been working on this:

Larger Than Life Bag

The Elann Uros is really nice. Very soft and I don’t know, tangible???? to work with. I like it a lot. Have a great day kids. I’m gonna finish my laundry and work on my sockpal socks. :)
